Candidates
Candidate Responsibilities
Now that you are a job candidate represented by JUMPSTART, you have certain responsibilities you must fulfill in order to make your transition into the workplace. First of all, if you do not understand, or something is not clear, ASK your assigned employment specialist, job coach, or other project staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Realizing vocation skills assessments and training is an important part of your success.
  • Attending any mandatory meetings held by JUMPSTART Career Services or your employment specialist.
  • Assist your employment specialist in developing your Individual Development Plan that reflects your needs and goals. The coordinating team will continually evaluate your progress in meeting the objectives of your IDP. IDPs may be modified as needed to be consistent with mutually agreed upon changes.
  • Submitting required paperwork, such as your time sheet or requests for leave, correctly and on time.
  • Report any on the job accidents to your employment specialist.
  • Inform your employment specialist of any changes in work schedule or duties.
  • Cooperating with your job coach.
  • Accepting any orientation, counseling, continuing education, and/or training that may be necessary to secure employment.
  • Showing up for work dressed appropriately and promoting yourself in a positive manner.
